This 3U desktop workstation is rackmount capable and was designed to provide high performance, without all the noise. To achive this goal a special power supply with two slow spinning fans replaced the standard power supply, and a large copper "flower" heatsink is used rather than a processor fan. Below is a comparison chart to help illustrate the volume difference these changes have brought to this high powered workstation. Even the hottest of Pentium 4 chips stayed well under the maximum operating temperature during extended burn-in tests.
